My name is Craig Posey. I am the Care Pastor at POCC and one of the Shepherd’s Hope Ministry Leaders for Port Orange Christian Church.  How did I get to this ministry?

Well, that is an interesting tale.  I hold a Bachelors degree in History and Political Science from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.  I also have two Masters degrees, the first from the University of Central Florida in Education, and the second from Southeastern University in Ministerial Leadership.

I have worked, most recently, as a Supervisor for the State of Florida leading a unit in the Department of Children and Families that processed applications for SNAP (Food Stamps), TANF (Cash Assistance), and Medicaid.  I have also had experience teaching online for Southeastern University.

Oddly, though, while I now have a devout relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ, that was not always so.  For the majority of my life I was a non-attender and a non-believer.  Change comes through meeting the right person at the right time. Meeting that person can alter the outlook of the most harden non-believer.  Shepherd’s Hope allows a Lay Ministry Counselor to be that person who can impact the life of another in such a manner as to lead them into the light.

Can you be that person?  We all have talents.  We just need to be taught how to best utilize them.
